The Live album is probably the best live recording ever by any group! It's definately one of my real favourites. It was released as a double-LP in March 1977. Just listen to Jackie Lynton's wonderful introduction of Quo before they rock off with Junior's Wailing. It's hard to pick any favourite track from this record because they are all fantastic. The show was recorded at The Glasgow Apollo Theatre in October 1976. There's a rumour saying that someone was taping the show on video. That would surely be something to see! The Live album spent fourteen weeks in the charts and reached No.3.

Whatever You Want was released in October 1979. It was in a more rockier style than the two previous albums Rockin' All Over The World and If You Can't Stand The Heat. The singles taken from this album is of course Whatever You Want(No.4) and Living On An Island, an acoustic song which reached No.16 after ten weeks in the charts. The album itself reached No.3. The track High Flyer has been omitted from the CD-version. My personal favourite tracks are Shady Lady, Who Asked You, Living On An Island and Breaking Away.

12 Gold Bars was the first compilation released on the Vertigo label. It contains every single released on Vertigo except Accident Prone. Nine of the tracks became Top 10 hits in the UK. Wild Side Of Life wasn't previously released on an LP. This album is a great collection of some real Quo-classics. 12 Gold Bars stayed for 48 weeks in the charts and it reached No.3. This album came out in March 1980. The cover shows the classic golden hand playing 12 bar rock'n roll.

Rock 'Til You Drop was a step back, but in the right direction, I think. This record is the best so far with the recent line-up. It's got a more rocking style than the two or three previous albums. The first single taken from RTYD was an old track from -77, Can't Give You More. Later the title track Rock 'Til You Drop was released as a single. Fakin' The Blues was also ment for a singles release but it was withdrawn. A smaller amount of copies came out before the withdrawal. Quo had recorded many tracks for this album and it contains 16 songs. The Can't Give You More single contains 2 tracks which aren't on the album. 1991 was a very active year for the band. Butlin's, a winter tour, The Brit Awards, the summer stadium shows, the recording of an album and the "Rock 'Til You Drop- Event", where Quo played four shows in one day (world record). That made them get into the Guinness Book Of Records. The bands' manager Dave Walker came up with the idea. The whole thing would get massive media exposure, promotion for the new album and money for charity. The album came out in September -91.

A new producer, a couple of new songs and a brand new album. That's what we got in 1999. The new producer Mike Paxman has done an excellent job, bringing back parts of the "old" sound. Quo has become more rockier again, just like the fans have demanded. My favourite songs on UTI are "Twenty Wild Horses", "Under The Influence", Shine On", "Little Me And You", "Making Waves" and the first single taken from this album "The Way It Goes". Nice to see that Parfitt is back as a songwriter, not to mention his voice which I think has improved a lot. A shame though that UTI didn't get more media exposure.
