Delusions about prostiution

There is some ideas about prostiution that i werry common among intelectuals and labourers alike that i dare to say is delusive. Those ideas has a destructive effect on the way people relate to prostiution and how to deal with it. I therefore publish this short list of common ideas about prostitution and what i claim is the actual truth.
Common delusions about prostitution
Prostitution is a work like any other?
False. Statisticaly prostitutes suffer more psychocologicaly than any legal workgroup. In the Norweigan fieldstudy called Bakgator the writer tells that the prostitutes talks about being locked in by johns for days, tortured and threatend to be killed in a calm way. It is something that they have got used to and those memories are not as painfull as the mental scars that years of prostitution leaves.
Prostitutes enjoy what they do
as far as i know false. There is all kind of people and there might be someone out there that enjoy extreme suffering and humiliation. A friend of a friend who practices Teakwondo got a call from a bloke who wanted him to dropkick him in the groin*. Many female prostitutes becomes either as-sexual or lesbian since they can no longer enjoy sex with males. A popular theme in TV-debates is to for example invite a prostitute that should sit and talk about how much she(its usualy a her)likes to be prostituted. The swedish socialist journalist Maria Pia Boethious did interviews with stripers who told her how much fun they tought it was to strip. Some years later she talked with the same people who had now quited. They told her then that they had to force themself to belive that they wanted to do that and that they did it out of free will to be able to cope with it.

Streetprostitution bad, hotel/luxury-prostitution good
False. To take Norway again as an example most prostitutes in Oslo choose to take \"runke-turer\" as they call it in cars instead of in-house prostitution. For a John in a car to be finished usualy takes 15 minutes. The Johns who use prostitutes in cars are not as picky as the one who wants a champagne-girl. Therefore the in-house prostitute need to put a lot of time into make up. The pay is bigger but compared to runkte-turer the hourly \"wage\" is smaler. Inhouse-prostitution is the result of the desires of specific johns not prostitutes. The in-house John want it to be more like a date so therefore he wants conversation, a dinner and usualy spend many hours with the prostitute before he jerks of inside of her.
Ilegal prostitution bad, state-prostituion good
False. In countries where stateprostitution has been tried out many prostitutes has told that the situation they are in has become even worse. They are for example not allowed to refuse a john which they have the possibility to do in the street.
People choose to prostitute themself
I cant give a straight true or false answer to that. To answer that we must look at the definition of choice. Prostitutes usualy belong to one of these three groups.
1) Drug-addicts: Male-addicts usualy rob people or steal stuff to afford hard drugs. Female addicts usualy prostitute themself.
2) Many prostitutes has been sexualy abused when they were young. When a kid gets sexualy abused for example by one of their parents their learn to trade their body for feelings from their parent. The abusive parent is usualy rather cold towards the kid when there isnt anything \"sexual\" that he/she wants to get out of the kid. Later on the abuse will be combined with gifts, candy and later money. Its not uncommon either that the abuser calls the kid a whore. By putting the kid through all of these traumas they are more or less raising it to be a prostitute. Statististicaly a great amount of the people who are prostituted or \"working\" in other parts of the \"sex\"-\"industry\" although there are many people who has been abused who dosent become prostitutes.
Estimates of the prevalence of incest among prostitutes range from 65% to 90%. The Council for Prostitution Alternatives, Portland, Oregon Annual Report in 1991 stated that: 85% of prostitute/clients reported history of sexual abuse in childhood; 70% reported incest. The higher percentages (80%-90%) of reports of incest and childhood sexual assaults of prostitutes come from anecdotal reports and from clinicians working with prostitutes (interviews with Nevada psychologists cited by Patricia Murphy, Making the Connections: women, work, and abuse, 1993, Paul M. Deutsch Press, Orlando, Florida; see also Rita Belton, "Prostitution as Traumatic Reenactment," 1992, International Society for Traumatic Stress Annual Meeting, Los Angeles, CA M.H. Silbert and A.M. Pines, 1982, "Victimization of street prostitutes," Victimology: An International Journal, 7: 122-133; C. Bagley and L Young, 1987, "Juvenile Prostitution and child sexual abuse: a controlled study," Canadian Journal of Community Mental Health, Vol 6: 5-26.
3) Poverty is another important issue. Many prostitutes have the choice just like starving workers in the begining of the industrial era to \"give their labour to the capitalists\"(Karl Marx). I dont know what definition you dear reader has of choice, but to choose between starving to death and whats your kids do the same or prostitute yourself isnt my definition of a choice, acording to me its a violent threat. Another example of "choise" is Thailand and traficking to other countries with a similiar situation for the sexual slaves. In the case of traficing a person from a poor country has been promised work in a restuarant for example to later find out that her soon-to-be pimp takes her passport and forces her violentlyto be a striper and later a prostitute.
The situation for pre-mature girls forced into sexual slavery in Thailand is even worse. There is something like 60.000 pre-teen children in sexual slavery in thailand. People have come to poor vilages and promised the parents to give their kids work and education. then they take them to the city. Look them inside a room and let the Johns pay to rape them. An 11year old sexual slave usualy get raped 10-12 times each day sometimes without a break. The goverment were first giving the girls condoms to protect them from AIDS but they stoped with that since the amount of costumers and the rubber teared up bleeding scars in their vaginas that meant that when they later had unprotected sex they would have an even bigger chance to get infected by the Johns. In thailand there is a myth that having sex with virigins gives back life-energy(i dont personaly accept that definition of sex tough) so the younger the child is the more Johns will the pimp be able to sell her to. I hope that you at least can accept that what these girls are exposed to is slavery not a choice. I now that the regime of Thailand can not. They are now planing to legalise prostitution, a legalistation that the prostitutes(there is at a minimum 300 000 mature prostitutes in Thailand) has agreed to fight.
Prostitution is a work
False. Prostitution is female* sexual slavery. When slavery was abolished in the USA some slaves \"choosed\" to stay with their masters. They had been fostered into being slaves just like many prostitutes are fostered through sexual abuse. Those slaves also wanted to stay with their masters beacuse they felt secure. That security was more related to the abuse they hade to look forward to in their free life than the kinds of their masters. In the same way the security that keeps women into prostitutes is the security to not provoke their pimp to hurt or kill them and the security mentioned above to not starve to death. Many prostitutes gets after some time a delusion that anyone can look at them and se that they are or have been selling sex. Beacuse of that paranoia their atemps to get into other work often ends fatal and they get even more stuck in the slavery. Early in the 19th centuary there was a lot more females than males being born at the same time as many males left Sweden for America. In those there were only a few work that women could legaly do. Those were housekeeping, wife, nurse and pianoteacher. That lead to a huge amount of women at the poorhouse since there wasnt enough job for them and so few males to marry. The result was such an explosion of prostitution that Sweden and exspecially Stockholm became known around Europe as a big whorehouse. That shows as good as anything that it isnt an openminded aproach to sexuality that makes people \"choose\" prostiution. Prostitution isnt work, it is the sexual slavery of working class women* and in many cases even working class women and children from the third world. I think the movie Monster sums it up pretty good**

He talks about how the definition of insinaty is a question of power i.e. the psychiatrist can decide that a person is insance while the patient can not decide that that the psychiatrist is insane. Many psychiatrist are certain by the way that there is no such thing as a sane person. Freud pointed out that those things that was called sexually perverse is something that exists to some degrees in all persons, i dont now for sure but he had most likely an idea like that about insanity also.
I agree with you.. this has realy been a good site. This page is absolutly the least quantitative and most qualitative experience of people on the net that i ever haved.

This time I'm being polite and obedient. I refuse only medication. But I'm pretty confident that I can show them my beliefs/ideas aren't devoid of reason.
